Flood Bucket Kits
Value: $65.00 per kit (cash contributions are accepted if you prefer). Cleaning Kit Materials 1 5-Gallon bucket with resealable lid. Buckets from fast-food restaurants or bakeries can be used if washed and cleaned. Do not use buckets that have stored chemicals such as paint or pool cleaner. Advertisements on the outside are acceptable. Liquid laundry detergent. One 50-oz. or two 25-oz. bottle(s) only Liquid household cleaner. 12‐16 oz. liquid cleaner that can be mixed with water o No spray cleaners Dish soap. 16-28 oz. bottle, any brand 50 Clothespins Clothesline. One 100-ft. or two 50-ft. lines. Cotton or plastic 7 Sponges. No cellulose sponges due to mold issues. Remove from packaging 24-Roll heavy-duty trash bags. 33-45 gallon sizes. Remove from the box 18 Cleaning wipes. Handi-wipes or reusable wipes. No terry cleaning towels. Remove from packaging 1 Can air freshener. Aerosol or pump 1 Insect-repellant spray. 6-14 oz. aerosol or spray pump with protective cover 2 Pairs kitchen dishwashing gloves. Should be durable enough for multiple use. Remove from packaging 1 Pair work gloves. All Cotton. All Leather. Cotton with Leather Palm 5 Scouring pads. Remove from wrapper. No stainless steel, Brillo pads or SOS pads (nothing with soap built in) 1 Scrub brush. Plastic or wood handle 5 Dust masks Assembly Directions Place all liquid items in the bucket first. Place remaining items in the bucket fitting them around and between the liquid items. Sponges, scouring pads, clothespins and trash bags can be separated in order to fit all of the items in the bucket. Ensure the lid is closed securely. Important Notes All items must be new except for the actual bucket and lid. All cleaning agents must be liquid and in plastic containers. No powders, please. If you cannot find the requested size of a liquid item, use a smaller size. Including larger sizes of any item will prevent the lid from sealing. If all of the items on the list are not included, please put a label on the bucket indicating what has been omitted. Monetary Donations: Monetary donations may be sent to the church. You can sponsor a partial, full, or multiple buckets. Please make checks payable to "EBUMC" and put "flood buckets" on the memo line.

Contact: Rev. David G. Goss, 610-588-4453 (Office) Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and East Bangor United Methodist Community Church will be presenting “Bridges of Hope,” on Thursday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Church in Johnsonville. Bridges of Hope is a new program developed by the FaithNet Advisory Board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and is designed to promote a deeper awareness of mental health issues within faith communities. This presentation is being offered for all religious beliefs. It also recognizes the expression by the majority of those affected by mental illness of the importance of the role of their spirituality in their ability to cope with having one of these illnesses themselves or in caring for an ill friend or family member. Individuals, family members, and representatives of all faith communities are invited to participate. This free program will be facilitated by Rev. Michael Scholtes and Rev. Dave Goss. The presentation will last approximately one hour and be followed by a time of refreshments and fellowship. The church is located at 2445 Lake Minsi Drive, Bangor, PA. The United Methodist Church has been a strong supporter of the fight against Malaria. Bishop Peggy Johnson has asked that we make one final push in our financial campaign by each church setting a goal to raise $10.00 per person based on average worship. United Methodist Men will resume in January, 2016. We will be surveying the men in our congregation to determine the best evening of the month to hold our meetings.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: The UMW Christmas Party will be held December 1st @ 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The cost per person is $21.00 for a Country style dinner. Checks should be made out to the East Bangor UMW. ALL WOMEN of our church are invited and may bring a friend for a fun-filled evening. Don’t forget to bring a wrapped $5.00 gift for our exchange and a collection will be taken for the Salvation Army. Please see Chris or Betty to make your reservation by November 22nd.
We will be collecting non-perishable items, canned goods such as soup, jello, cereal, cake mixes, pasta, noodles, etc. (please check expiration dates). Collection will end November 15th.
It's that time of year again! Our annual Gertrude Hawk Candy Sale. Orders are being taken now and the order sheet and money is due in by November 15, 2015. Checks can be made payable to EBUMCC. It’s time to start bringing in your donations for the White Elephant Table for our fall bazaar. Items can be dropped off on Thursday evenings between 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., or speak to Lois Tucker if you need to make special arrangements! Please note that the social hall will be unavailable for activities beginning November 2 as Bazaar set-up commences. Mark your calendar for Friday, November 20th & Saturday, November 21st. In the meantime, if you need any decorations for Fall or Thanksgiving…check us out downstairs. If you would like to help, let us know. Ideas include: Soccer ball with pump, Stuffed animal, Toys (puppets, trucks, etc.), Doll (baby, Barbie, etc.), Musical instrument, Outfit, Shoes Other Suggestions Toys: Include items that children will immediately embrace such as toy cars, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries), etc. School Supplies: pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc. Non-liquid Hygiene Items: toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths, etc. Accessories: T-shirts, socks, hats, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries), etc. Crafts: Make your own items such as hair bows, finger puppets, and friendship bracelets.
